Ok guys.. I'm new to this forum and to DVD in general but I'm hooked... anytime I have a spare $20-30 I end up with another DVD.

Well I started thinking Lawrence of Arabia has to be one of the best films of all time, especially when it comes to cinematography. So what better way to show this off than a letterboxed DVD?

Well.. my question is.. is a release planned? If so does anyone know of a projected release date? And what possible special features may the disc contain?

Thanks,
Ritalin

well I think Lawrence of Arabia has not yet been announced, but then neither have a ton of other classics such as citizen kane, schindler's list, etc.. I expect that these titles will eventually make their way to DVD, with certainty.. but it's a matter of time. The studios seem to be keeping themselves busy with new theater releases and timely video releases, yet still going back through the archives and re-releasing old materials.. this of course takes time and money, as well as patience on the part of the consumer. ;-)

Thanks for the response... but this brings up an off topic question.. does anyone know the time and money it takes to convert something to DVD? Or the time/money it takes to remaster something? Or what the actual process of (digitally) remastering something entails? I definately hope the classics such as Larry of Arabia and Citizen Cane etc. are done with time and care... it'd seem like a waste otherwise.

Thanks,
Ritalin
