Russel Crowe - just some cheers for him. Crowe had strong performances in both The Insider and Gladiator. Just recently I got to see Mystery Alaska. While he is ONE of the central focuses of the film, he was not the ONLY one, so it didn't really give him as much of a chance to "wow" the crowd, I think. Still he was an excellent addition to the cast.

Oh yes.. and watch for Jodie Foster's upcoming film, "Flora Plum" which I was originally made aware of by director Keith Gordon. Flora Plum has Russel Crowe listed as starring cast member along with Claire Danes. I expect this to be a somewhat quirky & odd flick of human nature.. time will tell.

Crowe rocks.

An article once read, "I would pay to watch Crowe stand around and drink beer."

I agree whole heartedly.

Your assessment of Mystery Alaska matches my assumptions exactly. I was considering getting the DVD to catch a shot of him, but with the array of cast members across the front cover - I figured his role would be minimal.

As far as Gordon's next film goes - interesting mix of talent. I look forward to hearing more about it.
