I'm also looking forward to the upcoming 'The Gladiator' flick.

In fact, I've heard on numerous occasions that they've pulled Indy's hat from the Smithsonian Institute as they prepare to make another film in the Indiana Jones series.

Not sure of the timeframe they're looking for with that one - Ford is getting older every day folks!

Then again if you look at what they did to Richard Dreyfuss in the beginning of 'Mr. Holland's Opus' ... hmmm...

I tell ya, other than a few stinkers - I look forward to John Woo flicks.

What does everyone think of Gibson's upcoming flick, The Patriot? Man I was at the theater yesterday and they have like a 15 foot wide by 7 foot tall stand-up with a big fat picture of Gibson's face front & center.. imagining this concotion standing in 2,000+ theaters nation-wide makes $$'s ring in my ears.. they must be expecting a pretty big turn-out.

Well .. to make sense of the marketing - one must look at the people behind this film.

That is - the same director/producer team that brought you:

a) Stargate
b) Independece Day
c) Godzilla
d) The 13th Floor

Apart from the last title, the others received larger than life marketing (i.e. "hype") that went above and beyond your every day film.

Based on their history, we could be in for a generally decent flick... or a real flop. We'll see.
