I saw the film ... the 3 of us who saw it didn't like it.
Coulda used more car chases... and an entirely new script.

but given that this film was a remake - with what you propose, it'd have been an entirly different movie and NOT 'gone in 60 seconds'. as a remake, there's only so much deviation you can get away with before you're in the realm of a new film, ineligible for recognition as a remake.
