Westlife Star to Marry Ex-Atomic Kitten Singer

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Westlife star Bryan McFadden is to marry former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona on Saturday, a spokeswoman for the chart-topping Irish boy band said.

Although details of Ireland's first celebrity wedding of 2002 have been widely leaked in Irish papers, the band's London-based record label was staying tight-lipped on Friday.

"Yes, the wedding is on Saturday, but I'm sorry, I can't give you any more details,'' a Westlife spokeswoman said.

According to press reports, the couple will tie the knot at the 150-year-old Church of the Immaculate Conception in the tiny village of Rathfeigh, County Meath, north of Dublin. The ceremony will be followed by a reception at nearby Slane Castle.

Irish media said McFadden and Katona had struck an exclusive picture deal with a glossy magazine, with the Irish Examiner reporting that the couple would be paid 390,000 euros for the rights.

One newspaper report on Friday suggested guests would have to undergo body searches at the entrance to the church to ensure they were not carrying hidden cameras or tape recorders.

Katona left Liverpudlian all-girl group Atomic Kitten after becoming pregnant last year, just before the band's fortunes soared. The couple, both aged 21, now have a four-month-old daughter, Molly, and live in McFadden's native Dublin.
