    a) Big momma is so big, she can get group insurance rates.
    b) Big momma is so big, she gets clothes in three sizes: extra large, jumbo and oh-my-god-it's-coming-towards-us!
    c) Big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'to be continued.'
    d) Actually, big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'One at a time, please!'
    e) Hey... uh - the movie is about 'Big Momma' not 'Yo Mama'. Get your head out of the toilet.

Finally getting around to adding DVD in addition to Laserdisc to my system, I find myself confused about the widescreen format. In addition to the letterbox format I am familiar with, there are full screen, wide screen format. Can someone help me out or send me somewhere to find some info. Thanks

    Chelsea -

"widescreen" is a widely mis-used term. Widescreen is technically a descrption of the SCREEN itself. IE - you have a wide screen at the movie theater or you have a wide screen TV. Unfortunately, marketing people who just don't GET it interchange "widescreen" with "letterbox" at random, and thus confusion ensues. "Letterbox" is a description of the various aspect ratios that the film is produced in, particularly anything more lateral than 4:3 ratio.

An "Anamorphic Widescreen" TV is one which has a wide screen (!) and is able to auto-fit anamorphicly stored letterbox video onto the screen.
