    a) Big momma is so big, she can get group insurance rates.
    b) Big momma is so big, she gets clothes in three sizes: extra large, jumbo and oh-my-god-it's-coming-towards-us!
    c) Big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'to be continued.'
    d) Actually, big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'One at a time, please!'
    e) Hey... uh - the movie is about 'Big Momma' not 'Yo Mama'. Get your head out of the toilet.

...a few favourites of mine that I haven't seen on shelves or in any "upcoming" list of DVD special editions? Namely The Fugitive, Silence of the Lambs and Fargo.

I hope I'm just missing the info. Because all were pretty big-time successes. I'd love commentaries from Davis/Ford/Jones on Fugitive, Demme/Foster/Hopkins on Lambs, and just about any extras from Fargo.

I take it there's a lot of politics involved in which SE versions get done, between the studios, stars, directors etc.

I think you'll enjoy the Criterion edition of Silence of the Lambs which has commentary, deleted scenes and other material.

As for Fargo, at least it's been re-released - perhaps one day there will be an SE, but the current MGM release makes up for Polygram's initial discontinuation of the title.

And The Fugitive, yeesh, who knows.. add it to the Wish List! ;-)

Right - Criterion's release is as close to a Special Edition as anyone's done yet as far as Silence of the Lambs goes.

'Fugitive' was one of the first titles released to DVD back in early '97. I wouldn't be surprised if 'Warner' doesn't re-release a Special Edition of this movie, especially if the TV show does well.

We might quite possibly see this Special Edition around the same time the first season of the TV series hits DVD. Who knows...?
