Random Poll: Just how big is big momma?

    a) Big momma is so big, she can get group insurance rates.
    b) Big momma is so big, she gets clothes in three sizes: extra large, jumbo and oh-my-god-it's-coming-towards-us!
    c) Big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'to be continued.'
    d) Actually, big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'One at a time, please!'
    e) Hey... uh - the movie is about 'Big Momma' not 'Yo Mama'. Get your head out of the toilet.

    ARCHIVED RUMORS
    September 1997

Please Note: The following are strictly intended as rumors and may or may not come to fruition. All non-official information encountered is considered a rumor until otherwise noted. Return to the [ ARCHIVE ]

     9/30/97:
  • Disney(Buena Vista/Touchstone) will put out 'The Rock', 'Phenomenon', 'Tombstone', 'Ransom', 'Scream', 'George of the Jungle', and 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' as some of their first DVD releases. Due out sometime in December.

     9/29/97:
  • Terminator 2 DVD will not have the same additional features as did its LD T2 SE predecessor. This is most likely due to the high cost and DVD still being quite young as a technology available to the market. The cost for the LD T2 SE version was in the neighborhood of $750,000.

     9/28/97:
  • Rumor has it that Sunshine and Shanda Lear just may officially get together a year from now. Interesting stuff, let me tell you. We'll have to wait and see!

     9/25/97:
  • True Romance DVD will not contain the Tony Scott commentary as initially suggested.

     9/24/97:
  • Terminator 2 DVD: (16:9) Live put up the money for a new interpositive supervised by the individual that did the original color timing. The IP was transferred to Hi-Def and downconverted to 16:9 NTSC D-1 by telecine colorist, Lou Levinson (considered to be one of the best in the business). This essentially means that Live has submitted much effort and expense to insure that the DVD edition of T2 will look as good as possible.

     9/23/97:
  • Image is changing their packaging. We should see this change in their next group of releases. They are dropping the Polygram style and moving over to the Warner style packaging.

     9/20/97:
  • Fox will annouce its involvement in the DVD market. They plan to begin releasing DVD movies with 'Independence Day'.

     Not Dated:
  • MGM plans on releasing a Special Edition DVD of 'GoldenEye'.

  • Disney's initial DVD releases will most likely be Live Action films vs. their animated releases.
