    c) Big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'to be continued.'
    d) Actually, big momma is so big, when she gets on the scale it says 'One at a time, please!'
    e) Hey... uh - the movie is about 'Big Momma' not 'Yo Mama'. Get your head out of the toilet.

[THE BIG BLUE - Long Version]

    Status Wish List FAQ

Submitted by Steve Woods on November 12, 1999 at 15:42:32:
DVD Title: THE BIG BLUE - Long Version
Studio: Columbia issued the cut 2 hour version on tape and laser

    Content Necessities:

    Okay, you asked for it:
The 1997 laserdisc release in Japan by FoxVideo included the following: Complete near 3 hour Director's Cut, near feature-length Making Of documentary. THX certified and remastered to the full 2.35:1 Cinemascope ratio. Film was shot and recorded in English.

    Extras:

Let's give the American fans of this film something to collect. Nobody seemed satisfied with the American cut and rescored version of this film back in 1988.
Since director Luc Besson has long been well-known in this country, let's give fans the true version of his work.
This film is screaming for a DVD remaster, but a DV18 may be necessary. Double disk would be okay, too.
    Criterion, are you interested?

    Disc Value:

    ANY

    Additional Comments:

the 1997 Fox laserdisc from Japan is a thing of beauty and they are in the process of doing the Region 2 version.
Maybe us Region 1 people will be blessed as well.
