Movie Summary:
[Western]
James McKay heads west to marry his fiancee, Patricia Terrill, the daughter of rancher Major Henry Terrill. Major Terrill is tangled in a water-rights feud with covetous Rufus Hannassey. McKay decides to buy the disputed water-rich lands from a local school teacher as a wedding present. But when Terrill's bully foreman attempts to prove McKay cowardly, McKay decides to distance himself from the abhorrent behavior of his fiancee, the Terrill family, and the out-of-control feud. McKay soon finds himself falling for the headstrong schoolmarm. When she is kidnapped, McKay is left no alternative but to finally take action. Burl Ives won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar as the Terrill family patriarch.
