A transcendently poetic worldwide tour of the globe, "Baraka" unfolds before our senses, bypassing words, exciting the eye, the ear and the imagination with a sweep of visions and sounds. This critically-acclaimed feature, shot in breathtaking 70mm, aims to show the beauty, fragility and interconnectedness of the world through images, sounds and music. Director Ron Fricke (cinematographer of "Koyaanisqatsi") and his crew spent 14 months traveling to 24 countries on 6 continents to capture such awesome sites as the pyramids at Giza, St. Peter's Square, Mount Everest, burning oil fields in Kuwait, and the Tiwi tribe in Australia. Set to the life-affirming rhythms of varied religious rituals and nature's own raw beat, "Baraka" captures the harmony and the calamity that humans and nature have visited upon the earth.
