Movie Summary: [Drama]

    Writer/director John Maybury's debut feature explores the contradictions in British painter Francis Bacon's artistic and personal life, his intriguing and often disturbing relationship with his younger lover George Dyer, and the other who inhabit his destructive, claustrophobic world. Set in the 1960s and early 1970s, "Love is the Devil" charts Bacon and Dyer's turbulent and dangerous relationship, from meeting to the tragic events which unfolded at the opening of Bacon's triumphant retrospective at the Grand Palais in Paris.
