DVD Video - Title Selection
Best Of The Cord: Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhatt

Release Date: 8/3/99
MSRP: $24.99

Studio: Abrams

Year: 1996

Rating: Not Rated

Starring: Vishwa Mohan Bhatt

   Movie Summary: [Music]

With blinding speed and faultless legato, Bhatt is undoubtedly one of the most expressive and versatile slide players in the world--Acoustic Guitar Magazine. Grammy winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt modified the Western acoustic guitar by changing the main strings and adding a number of "sympathetic strings," then developed his own technique of playing Indian classical music on this modified guitar. He has collaborated with musicians such as slide guitarist Ry Cooder (1994's Grammy-winning World Music Album of the Year, "A Meeting by the River"), dobro player Jerry Douglas, banjo player Bela Fleck and singer Taj Mahal, and has studied under the great sitar maestro, Pt. Ravi Shankar. To honor the artist, this live concert was held in his hometown of Jaipur (Rajasthan), India, before an invited audience at Birla Auditorium, a superb place for its great architecture and acoustical values. Tracks: Raga Gawati, Raga Des, Raga Pahari, Raga Bhairvi.
